Dementia Accessible Cinema: Miracle on 34th Street

Join us for a dementia-accessible film screening of the festive classic Miracle on 34th Street – a relaxed and welcoming cinema experience designed with those living with dementia, their families, and carers in mind.

The holiday season is in full swing when a cultured gentleman with twinkling eyes, an ample belly, and a snowy beard is hired as a Macy’s department store Santa. He claims his name is Kris Kringle, and he soon fills everyone with Christmas spirit...

Doors open at 12pm for tea, coffee and cake (available for a donation), with the film starting at 1pm. Enjoy classic favourites in a calm environment where the lights are slightly up, the volume is gentle, and you're free to move around or talk if needed. Each film will have an interval to provide a movement and comfort break. We will have additional staff and signage available to help you, and there is an accessible route into the studio.

Everyone is welcome – whether you're living with dementia, caring for someone who is, or simply want to enjoy a classic film in a friendly, understanding space.
