Access at Chelmsford Theatre
Our aim is for Chelmsford Theatre to be accessible and inclusive, and our Access Scheme offers an opportunity for you to tell us about any access needs, so that we can best accommodate your visit and ensure you have an enjoyable experience. It is free to join and designed to make it easier to book accessible seats, and to help our staff deliver the best possible standard of service to you. The scheme is currently under review and will be available to apply for shortly. If you're currently part of the Essential Companion scheme you can still book tickets via the box office.
If you have any access questions regarding your visit and would like to speak to our friendly team, either call our box office on 01245 606505 or email boxoffice@chelmsford.gov.uk
We’re happy to offer a personalised service based on your accessibility requirements and can provide the following:
- Assistance with booking tickets
- Booking wheelchair spaces
- Information about our Essential Companion scheme
- Pre-site visits with an experienced member of the team
Running times
Some shows give an approximate running time and when available this can be found on the show page. All films have running times, but this does not include live performance trailers.
Running times are given as a rough guide but due to the nature of live performance they cannot always be accurate.
General admission
General admission refers to areas that are not assigned or reserved, and are occupied on a first-come, first-served basis. When purchasing tickets for a general admission event, you may be quoted row and seat numbers, however these are for inventory purposes only and do not reflect any actual seating location.
Programme of events
At times it is necessary to make changes to the published programme. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Video and Photography
We do not allow video or photography for most of our shows, however there are a few occasions when it is allowed, and this will be advised as part of the show.
If you are seen to be taking unauthorised video or photography you will be asked to stop by a member of staff.
Seating Plans
You can view the seating plans here:
The seating plans may vary on some performances.
Booster seats
Booster seats are loaned free of charge during events for young children. Availability is limited, so we advise patrons to bring a cushion or seat where possible to avoid disappointment.
