Hosting everything from comedy and theatre to live music and large-scale touring productions and an annual pantomime, our main house is an essential cultural hub in the heart of Chelmsford. A short walk from Chelmsford train and bus station, the auditorium has a capacity of 502 across two levels, all with excellent sightlines of the stage. The public spaces boast two stylish bars and house our main box office.

Next-door to Chelmsford Theatre is our studio
Our intimate studio space hosts new material and emerging artists as well as live screenings from all over the globe. With a capacity of 165 the space is very versatile and can host both tiered theatre style seating and cabaret style. When reopened after the makeover of our front of house spaces the studio will also house our new open-all-day café with outdoor terrace seating.
