Cats The Musical
Presented by local amateur theatre group, Young Gen.
Based on T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, West End and Broadway musical, CATS. Set in a larger than life junkyard alive with many feline characters, including Rum Tum Tugger, Mr Mistoffelees, Macavity, Jennyanydots, Grizabella and Skimbleshanks.
The Jellicle Cats come out to play on one special night each year for the Jellicle Ball. They tell their stories to their wise leader, Old Deuteronomy, who must choose one of the cats to be reborn into a new Jellicle Life.
The magnificent musical score, composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, includes the iconic showtune, Memory.
