Film Making Workshop for Young People

After the success of our one-off film making masterclasses, we are now offering a suite of workshops beginning in January, with each week being different.

For film lovers aged 10 to 16, you'll learn directly from the experts at Offshoot Films and gain knowledge on all areas of film production including camera operating, sound engineering and storyboarding.

Starting with an introduction to the world of filmmaking, through to postproduction, the seven sessions will cover aspects such as scriptwriting, shot sizes, audio recording, filming, lighting, editing and all things postproduction before a screening of the film at the end of the last session.

Saturday 13 January: Filmmaking introduction and the basics.
Sunday 4 February: Scriptwriting
Sunday 25 February: Pre-production, including roles, casting, costume, make-up and location scouting.
Saturday 16 March: Filming
Sunday 14 April: Filming
Sunday 12 May: Filming and postproduction
Sunday 26 May: Postproduction and screening

Please note this masterclass includes a lunch break, you can bring a packed lunch with you or pick up one of our children’s lunch boxes from the theatre café. Parents do not need to stay for the duration of this workshop.
